Checking in was a little confusing as it was done at the same desk as the restaurant bookings by the waiters/waitresses.

The staff were very friendly and Libby was particularly helpful, going out of her way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The restaurant was good and the inclusive breakfast was great. The decor in the bedroom was a tired and needed some attention, but it was clean and the bed was very comfy.

I paid extra for a larger room but to access it I had to walk outside and up a spiral staircase, this would have been a challenge for an older person. My room was cold (the heating wasn’t working) and the toilet facilities were odd - the bath was in the bedroom and the toilet was in the corner behind some frosted glass, there wasn’t a lot of privacy.

The welcome was friendly, the hotel was central to the town and it had loads of character.

The check in and check out times are a bit mean maybe a hour earlier to check in and a hour later too check out. Especially as you can have breakfast till 11am in the morning.

The rooms was lovely and a very comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast.

Dusty cobwebs no windows in room

Im sorry to say that the room we had number 9 was very dusty with cobwebs everywhere needs a good clean and we had no hot water to gave shower in morning rang reception to tell them they said give it half hour try again unfortunately still no hot water so gave up got dressed So we won’t be staying again

Dinner - not everything was available on the menu which we could have been told as we sat to eat. We requested to move to a table but was told it was reserved - it was not it was vacant all night Manager clearly wanted to get home. We felt rushed with our meal. Restaurant closed early which we were expecting but when we asked for a final round of drinks they did not even try to accommodate us. They could have easily warned us and asked if we would like anything, but they didn't. A real shame there is nowhere for guests to sit given the restaurant and bar closes at 9.30pm which is pretty early

Booking- the establishment sent at least 10 emails about the parking, I understood from email one! There is no parking, they are suggesting two car parks, I parked free in a road outside parking restrictions. No fruit for breakfast

Parking was a bit of a drive away, and a 5 minute walk away. Free 6.00-8.00pm.

Cleanliness not up to par. Staff were slow to meet at check in and restaurant staff made no notice of me waiting. Dinner overpriced and overcrowded. Restaurant was filthy when having dinner. Food on floor near table.

Room was on main road side and so plenty of traffic passing, however only booked the room the day before and so choice/ availability would have been limited.
