A beautiful location with stunning views over the lake Windermere. The room I had “premier” was absolutely fantastic. Clean and tidy. With the most beautiful view of the lake. The room also featured a door that takes you outside to a little garden area.
Jet spa bath and walk in shower were both amazing and worked absolutely spot on. Bathroom was clean and well present.
Upon arrival I was greeted by a lovely old building with great character and charm. Sure it’s a little dated but I think it adds to the atmosphere.
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The lovely man behind the bar wrote down some locations I should visit whilst I was in the area.
The spa is lovely. Very clean and sterile. A lovely steam room and dry sauna with a very large pool and sun loungers. Outside there were 2 hot tubs, looking over the lake. I cannot lie I don’t think I’ve ever sat in a hot tub with a view like that!
The prices are a little on the expensive side. But I think it was worth it for the experience that I had. It was fab!
Worth noting - £20 charge per person per day on the spa (but they do tell you this).
With open log fires and beautiful oak beams, Damson Dene Hotel features a luxury spa, beautiful landscaped gardens and a traditional restaurant. Windermere is just a 15-minute drive away.

We liked this place. It's 10 minutes' drive from Bowness. We checked-in online and receptionist gave us keys. We were given information about the spa area and the restaurant. The room vas better than in the pictures. It was quite spacious and clean. Our room 40 had a separate entrance. The bathroom was spotless. There were some toiletries and hair dryer. We had a bath and shower. Then we went to the restaurant. The dinner was tasty and the portions were large. We were chilling and relaxing outside as the weather was sunny and warm.
The pool, jacuzzi and sauna were fab.
In the morning we had breakfast. Traditional English breakfast was good even better than other hotels provide. I'd like to admit that there was plenty of parking in the parking lot. What I liked most was the silence in the morning. Sounds of nature and clean air. Thank you very much for such a lovely weekend.
By the way, our tour was: Bowness - boat to Ambleside - bus to Grasmere - hotel. The next day hotel - Bowness car ferry (7 pounds per car) - Beatrix Potter House (booked in advanced) - Castle - Ambleside - home.
Once owned by children's author Beatrix Potter, Lindeth Howe country house hotel is set in beautiful large gardens, just a 5-minute walk from the banks of Lake Windermere.

It was right next to the lake ferry giving easy access to other parts of the lake. Vouchers were given for the car park very close by.
there was a great path, one mile long leading to Newby Bridge, where we sat outside by the river with a relaxing drink.

A pleasantly situated hotel on the river.
A pleasantly situated hotel on the river. Our room was large and overall comfy, with a great bed. However, we found the hotel overpriced particularly foodwise which we felt was of standard quality. We had numerous negative feelings and left a day earlier. The hotel did refund a days stay which was good of them. My husband and I have much experience of hotels, Food service, customer service and felt this hotel could be so much better if they revert to first class service. I would not choose to stay there again, sadly.

The only negative was that the lakeside allowed Dogs in the hotel. I love dogs but think when you go to an expensive hotel you don’t need dogs staying in the bedrooms.
The Huntsman pub was very good for food.
While we were eating our meal there were 3 dogs running around the pub and not under control.
This was bad owners not bad dogs.
Beautiful location
The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Food was amazing. Lovely evening meal and choices were great . Lovely self serve breakfast too in the morning , would of preferred better continental selection though. Location is pretty good as you can jump on the newby bridge halt just across the road and it takes you to lakeside aquarium. You can also get a boat over to Bowness from there too. Rooms were clean and had most requirements. However duvet was exceptionally thin but did have an additional blanket we could use.
Nice cosy B&B 20 min drive from Bowness-on-Windemere. The room was warm, which was a relief after getting wet during the day. Small bathroom but fine for a weekend. There is only a big overhead shower, no handheld one (personal preference). Colin was super nice and we were able to change our BF time to early morning so we could make the most of the day. He offers a good choice for BF with various cereals, musli, fruit, toast and English BF. Parking is easy on the property. I'd stay again.
My friends and I recently had a short break and chose to stay at Newby Bridge Hotel, located conveniently close to the Lake District. Prior to our arrival, we emailed the hotel to inform them that we would be checking in late.
We were pleased to find that they had left a note with a letter and keys at the front desk, making it easy for us to check-in upon our arrival from London. We had booked one of the larger rooms available for three adults through the Booking.com website.
Absolutely stunning hotel all the staff were super friendly
The swimming pool is quite small but all you need to chill out and enjoy the Spa facilities which includes the Jacuzzi Steam room and Sauna very relaxing.
The Bedroom was very nice with a super large comfortable bed with a nice shower which was super clean.
The Breakfast is not a buffet style you get table service which was delightful and a really good choice the breakfast was cooked to perfection.
Very modern, clean and comfortable. Very spacious and every thing required. Plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobes, very comfortable beds!! Lovely luxury bath sheets and hand towels. Kitchen/living area spacious and all kitchen items required for self catering. Laundry facilities great too!
Location is very good for visiting all towns nearby.
Rusland Pool pub/hotel has a great menu and Large petrol station nearby has supermarket and Costa!
Our stay was lovely! couldnt recommend Newby Bridge Caraven Park enough. After needing to change the date due to the loss of my Father the staff were so helpful. The caravan was lovely spacious and modern and the little touches of the bag of treats/toys for our dog and the bottles of prosecco on arrival were extremely thoughtful. This is the 2nd time i have stayed and will definately be back.
Spacious rooms (family room with bunkbed), free parking, free to use games room (air hockey, small pool table for kids), foosball, heated Swimming pool, Sauna rooms and Jacuzzi. Onsite Spa available but was fully booked, should book together when booking your hotel. Lakeside Pier & Lakes Aquarium are right at the doorstep. Wonderful staff, always smiling!!!
Everything was perfect! From the very friendly welcome on arrival to the lovely hotel decor & facilities. The food was delicious too (both breakfast & dinner). It was great to have access to a swimming pool. We also liked the friendly peacock in the hotel grounds & the views over the lake.
Very comfortable room, nice and spacious with air con.
The thermal spa was wonderful. Wish there entry ran a bit later so could have taken full advantage.
Breakfast was very filling and the portion sizes in the bar main menu was very large
Great location, lovely big room and bathroom, lovely staff, bar had a lovely cozy atmosphere, hotel very quiet, swimming pool area was very quiet, steam room was good and big, jacuzzzi was hot.
We just loved the location and the quality of the food. The portion sizes were just right and the locally sourced ingredients were noticeable. I would certainly recommend the Lakeview hotel.
Very pleasant hotel, nice swimming pool after a day of hiking, very nice personnel, clean. goo location for trips to Bowness or hiking areas Langdale and Coniston.
